Built for outside
Several variants are rated by the manufacturer for indoor and outdoor duty, in SUS304 or painted cold-rolled steel. A tripod tolerates rain, cold and grit in a way a glass wing never will — which is why it still owns stadium perimeters and works yards.

Damped, not slammed
The KT1220, KT1200-Gloden, KT1425 and KT1427 carry a hydraulic buffer on the rotor. The arm returns to rest smoothly instead of snapping — quieter in a lobby, and markedly kinder to the mechanism over millions of passages.

The arms fall clear
On power loss the blocking arm drops to vertical and the lane opens completely — the tripod interpretation of the free-passage requirement EN 17352 places on escape routes. Nothing remains at waist height to catch anyone leaving in the dark.

35 persons per minute, as published by the manufacturer in September 2025. The figure is consistent across all thirteen variants.
Can tripod turnstiles be installed outdoors?
